A court in Chattogram, Bangladesh, has ordered the Satkania Circle assistant superintendent of police to investigate extortion allegations against Md Arman Uddin, the personal assistant to Chattogram-15 Member of Parliament Shahjahan Chowdhury. The case, filed by Amir Hossain, a resident of Lohagara, accuses Arman Uddin and five associates of demanding Tk 20 lakh.

According to the case petition, Arman Uddin's associates allegedly broke into a shop owned by a tenant of Amir Hossain's building on April 3. They reportedly stole items worth approximately Tk 11.58 lakh and Tk 1.20 lakh in cash. The petition also claims the accused threatened other tenants, demanding they pay rent through them.

Amir Hossain further alleged that during a meeting on August 20, an associate of Arman Uddin demanded the Tk 20 lakh, threatening to withhold possession of the shop and house if the payment was not made. Arman Uddin himself allegedly pressured Amir Hossain over the phone. The plaintiff also claims he was assaulted by the accused.

Hossain stated he approached the court after police allegedly refused to register his case. He seeks a thorough investigation and justice for the alleged extortion and assault. Arman Uddin, however, denied the allegations, claiming he does not know the complainant and that a "vested quarter" is attempting to defame him.
