A tragic accident in Dhaka's Moghbazar Wireless Gate area on Sunday night claimed one life and left four others injured after a covered van veered out of control. The collision involved an auto-rickshaw and two motorcycles, according to police reports.

The victim, identified as Zaman Ahmed, 42, from Narail Sadar upazila, was riding one of the motorcycles when the incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. near the Grand Plaza Shopping Mall. Mohammad Yeasin Mia, officer-in-charge of Ramna Police Station, confirmed the details of the crash.

Sheikh Zahidul Islam, deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Ramna Division, stated that the covered van lost control while descending the Malibagh flyover, striking the auto-rickshaw and the two motorcycles. The impact caused the three-wheeler and the motorcycles to hit the road divider.

Of the five individuals injured in the crash, one succumbed to their injuries later. Three of the injured were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, with reports indicating they are in critical condition. A witness, Kawsar Ahmed, 19, who works at a nearby juice shop, described the speeding covered van hitting the vehicles from behind, leading to the fatal collision.
