Security was heightened at two metro rail stations in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on Saturday following the discovery of suspicious items, prompting the deployment of bomb disposal units. The Mirpur-10 metro station faced a temporary shutdown after authorities were alerted to a bag found on its first floor.

Police cordoned off the area around noon after the metro rail authorities reported the suspicious package. The station was closed to the public shortly after, with the bomb disposal unit arriving to conduct an examination. Deputy Commissioner Mostak Ahmed of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police stated that it would only be possible to determine the nature of the item after the unit's inspection.

It will only be possible to confirm whether it is a bomb or something else after the bomb disposal unit examines it.

Adding to the security concerns, another suspicious sack was spotted near a pillar close to the Farmgate metro rail station. Deputy Commissioner Md Ibne Mizan confirmed that the bomb disposal unit had been informed and would assess the item. The incidents have raised concerns about public safety as authorities work to ensure the metro systems remain secure.
