Ogun monarch plans foundation at OOUTH in late wife’s memory

In a touching tribute, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, has announced his intention to establish a foundation at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH). This initiative is dedicated to the memory of his late wife, Dr. Linga Ajayi, a distinguished medical professional whose legacy of service will be honored through continued commitment to healthcare and training.

Dr Linga Ajayi was a Consultant Surgeon at the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Scotland, trained at Lagos University Teaching Hospital and served with distinction until her passing.

The announcement was made during the inauguration of the Dr. David Mada Secretariat, a new facility for the Association of Nigerian Private Medical Practitioners (ANPMP), Remo Zone. Oba Ajayi, who was installed as the Grand Patron of the association, emphasized that the proposed foundation would serve as a continuation of his wife's passion for medicine. Dr. Linga Ajayi, a Consultant Surgeon, had a notable career, including service at the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary in Scotland and training at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital.

I will institute a project at OOUTH in her memory to continue her commitment to healthcare and training.

Oba Ajayi also took the opportunity to commend the current leadership at OOUTH, specifically praising the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Bunmi Fatungase, as the "best CMD the institution has ever had." His endorsement signals strong royal support for the hospital's ongoing efforts and reinforces the importance of collaboration between public and private healthcare providers in the Remoland region. The establishment of the foundation marks a significant philanthropic endeavor aimed at advancing medical care and education.
