Olt County in Romania is currently under a yellow code alert for severe weather, with forecasts predicting heavy rain, hail, and intensified winds. This alert follows a period of intense, almost unbearable heat that has gripped the region.

The storm warnings were issued for specific time intervals on Friday afternoon. In Slatina, the county seat, strong winds caused several trees to fall. The falling branches damaged two cars. The storm also caused damage on Dinu Lipatti street, where roof elements were torn from buildings, and several parked vehicles sustained damage, with two being more severely affected, according to the Olt Inspectorate for Emergency Situations.

The southern part of the country has been enduring extreme temperatures, with a noticeable lack of precipitation until these recent storm warnings. The yellow code alert signifies a moderate level of danger, urging citizens to be cautious of the adverse weather conditions.
