Oman national volleyball team achieves its highest world ranking

The Oman national men's senior volleyball team has reached a historic milestone, achieving its highest-ever world ranking of 69th globally. This accomplishment underscores the substantial development within Omani volleyball in recent years and highlights the team's increasing prominence on both continental and international stages.

This new ranking is the result of sustained technical and administrative efforts, positioning the national team for a more ambitious phase. A significant goal is to qualify for the West Asian Championship for National Teams. A victory there could propel the team into the top 50 worldwide, a target now seemingly within reach.

The champion of this tournament will earn a direct spot in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, a first for Omani volleyball, while the top three teams will qualify for the 2027 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship in the Philippines.
