Ondo Trains 90 Youths in Modern Poultry Farming

The Adiye Irorun Programme represents a significant stride by the Ondo State Government under Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to tackle youth unemployment and foster economic growth. This initiative, aligned with the 'OUR EASE' agenda, directly addresses the need for sustainable livelihoods by equipping young people and women with essential skills in modern poultry farming.

Each cycle of the programme runs for six weeks, during which participants are actively trained in poultry production. The government provides all necessary inputs, including chicks, feed, medication, and technical support.

The program's structured approach, which includes intensive training, provision of necessary resources, and a profit-sharing model, ensures that beneficiaries not only gain practical experience but also receive direct financial benefits. This hands-on methodology is crucial for empowering individuals and lifting communities out of poverty, demonstrating a commitment to tangible socio-economic development.

Ninety youths and women have benefitted from the programme. In the first cycle of the programme, N8.5 million was disbursed to 50 participants, while in the second cycle, over N15 million will be disbursed to 40 participants, with cheques to be presented to them on Tuesday.

By operating across all three senatorial districts, the Adiye Irorun Programme ensures widespread accessibility and inclusivity. The success of previous cycles, with substantial financial disbursements to participants, underscores the program's effectiveness and its potential for long-term impact.
