One dead after group fight escalates to fatal car collision in Shah Alam

One person has died following a violent altercation between a group of men in Shah Alam, Malaysia.

The incident, which occurred near Jalan Mandolin 33/5 Taman Alam Megah, was captured on CCTV and shared on social media. The footage appears to show a physical fight among the men, followed by a car deliberately striking one of the individuals.

Shah Alam District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Sarudin Samah, confirmed the incident took place on a public road. He stated that police received a call from the public reporting the fight. "Semakan rakaman cctv juga mendapati bahawa terdapat sekumpulan lelaki bergaduh sehingga berlaku tetakan diantara mereka. Terdapat sebuah kenderaan jenis Perodua Alza berwarna biru melanggar salah seorang daripada suspek sehingga menyebabkan kematian ditempat kejadian," he said.

Police have since arrested one man in connection with the incident. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which pertains to murder and carries a penalty of 30 to 40 years in prison, along with at least 12 strokes of the cane.

Authorities are appealing to the public for any information and urge against speculation regarding the incident. Individuals with relevant information are asked to contact Senior Investigating Officer Assistant Superintendent Shamsiah Noor Zakaria or any nearby police station.
