One dead, eight injured in head-on crash on Kasoa-Winneba Road

A fatal head-on collision occurred on Saturday, August 16, 2026, at Tipper Junction along the Kasoa–Winneba Road, claiming one life and leaving eight others injured. The accident involved a water tanker and a Toyota Voxy.

Emergency services, including the Ghana National Fire Service, were dispatched to the scene following a distress call. Firefighters from the Buduburam Fire Station arrived to find the Toyota Voxy severely damaged, particularly its engine compartment, while the water tanker sustained partial damage. The fire service team worked to extricate individuals trapped in the wreckage and provided immediate first aid.

Eight injured persons were successfully rescued from the vehicles and were rushed to the Mother and Child Hospital in Kasoa for urgent medical treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, one of the victims succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. The incident highlights the ongoing dangers on the nation's roadways and the critical role of rapid emergency response.
