Two dead in Ghana road crash involving car and bus

A Sunday night road crash in Assin Fosu, Ghana, claimed two lives and left five others injured when a Scienta vehicle collided head-on with a Metro Mass Transit (MMT) bus. The accident happened around 7 p.m. as the Scienta, traveling from Cape Coast, reportedly tried to overtake another vehicle. It then crashed into the MMT bus coming from Kumasi.

The deceased were the driver of the Scienta and a passenger. Five other occupants of the car sustained injuries and were taken to a hospital. The impact of the collision caused the MMT bus to veer off the road, crash into the wall of Obiri Yeboah Senior High School, and partially collapse it. Three children walking along the road were also struck by the bus and injured. They are in stable condition at a hospital, according to police.
