One dead in Russian drone attack on Ukraine's Kharkiv; Kyiv hit by debris

A Russian drone attack on the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv resulted in one fatality and four injuries, according to regional governor Oleh Synjehubov. The target of the attack was reportedly a shopping center. This incident is part of a broader pattern of escalating aerial assaults between Russia and Ukraine.

In the capital, Kyiv, falling debris from drones injured two people who required hospitalization. Several buildings sustained damage, including a sports facility in the Boryspil district east of Kyiv, where warehouses caught fire. Military administration data indicated that a sports facility near the government quarter was damaged, with social media showing plumes of smoke near the Valeriy Lobanovsky Stadium.

Ukraine's air force reported intercepting seven ballistic missiles and an "Oniks" anti-ship missile. Sources in Ukraine suggest that approximately 86% of the drones used by the Russian military were intercepted. Meanwhile, Moldova's Ministry of Defense reported that five Russian drones briefly violated Moldovan airspace.

Ukraine has continued its counterattacks, primarily targeting Russia's energy infrastructure and, more recently, e-commerce company facilities. Ukrainian drones reportedly struck a logistics center belonging to "Ozon," Russia's second-largest e-commerce company, in the Ural region. Employees at a distribution center near the Kazakh border in Orenburg were temporarily evacuated due to a missile threat, though no casualties or damage were reported.
