Online Motorcycle Taxis to Operate at Husein Sastranegara Airport Under Quota System

Online motorcycle taxi drivers will soon be permitted to operate at Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung, Indonesia, following its reactivation. The airport's commander, Marsma TNI M.D. Irman Fathurrahman, stated that the drivers are a necessary support service for passenger mobility.

To maintain order and prevent chaos, the airport will implement a quota and registration system for the drivers. "We will accommodate all of them, but it will still be limited so it's not chaotic," Irman explained. A dedicated area will be provided for ride-hailing drivers, and those wishing to pick up passengers must submit an official request to the cooperative managing airport operations.

The specific quota for vehicles has not yet been determined, as it depends on the projected passenger numbers once the airport resumes full operations. Currently, the airport's reactivation is about 95% complete, with essential facilities like the runway and lighting at 99% readiness. Seven airlines have applied to offer regular, international regional, and cargo flights. The airport is slated to reopen in August 2026, pending approval from the Ministry of Transportation.
