Orsi's Management Disapproval Rises to 57% in Uruguay Poll

President Yamandú Orsi's management is facing significant public disapproval, with a recent poll indicating that 57% of Uruguayans disapprove of his government's performance. Only 19% expressed approval, according to the latest survey by Opción Consultores.

The poll also delved into Orsi's personal performance as president. The results show that 50% of respondents disapprove of his work, while 22% approve, and 28% remain neutral. This represents a decline from the previous quarter, with the evaluative balance for the presidency shifting from -17 to -28.

These figures reveal a stark divide along political lines. Among voters for the ruling Broad Front (Frente Amplio), approval for the government stands at 39%, nearly ten times higher than the 4% recorded among voters for the opposition Republican Coalition. Conversely, 81% of Republican Coalition voters disapprove of the government, compared to 28% of Broad Front voters.

The survey, conducted via telephone with a total of 806 respondents between July 16-20 and August 6-11, has a maximum margin of error of +/-3.5% for a 95% confidence level. The data suggests a challenging period for Orsi's administration as it navigates public opinion.
