Osinbajo, Fashola, others attend burial service for ex-Finance Minister Adeosun’s husband

A church service was held on Thursday at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, City of David, Trinity Towers in Victoria Island, Lagos State, to honor the life of Anthony, the husband of former Nigerian Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun.

Anthony Adeosun, described as a reputable businessman, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at the age of 62. A statement issued by Rev. C. A. Adeosun on behalf of the family noted that the deceased was a devoted Christian who positively impacted the lives of those around him.

The service saw the attendance of several high-profile figures from Nigeria's political and economic spheres. Among those present were former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and his wife, Dolapo Osinbajo. Also in attendance were former governors Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State and Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State.

Other notable attendees included Florence Ajimobi, the wife of the late Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi; Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina, former President of the African Development Bank; and Dr. Zacch Adedeji, Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service. The deceased is survived by his wife, Kemi, his children, and siblings, including Adewale Adeosun, founder of Kuramo Capital.

Following the church service, the family proceeded to a private burial for the deceased.
