NAHCON approves five airlines for 2027 Hajj operations

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced the approval of five airlines for the 2027 Hajj operations, marking a significant step in organizing the annual pilgrimage for Nigerian Muslims.

The selected carriers are Air Peace Ltd., Flynas, Max Air Ltd., Saudi Air, and UMZA Aviation Services Ltd. This decision follows a comprehensive screening and evaluation process conducted by NAHCON's Aviation Screening Committee, which assessed the airlines based on regulatory safety standards, operational capacity, and financial stability.

NAHCON emphasized that the engagement of these airlines is contingent upon the successful execution of airlift agreements and their adherence to the requirements set forth by both the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the Saudi General Authority on Civil Aviation (GACA) for the 2027 Hajj. The commission also highlighted that passenger allocations and flight schedules will be coordinated with state pilgrim welfare boards and operators.

All approved carriers are mandated to comply strictly with Hajj 2027 regulations. This includes issuing tickets linked to pilgrims' Nusuk-Masar data and adhering to baggage allowances, such as a single 32kg checked bag and an 8kg hand luggage, as stipulated by aviation authorities. NAHCON urged all stakeholders to cooperate with the selected airlines to ensure a safe, seamless, and comfortable travel experience for all Nigerian pilgrims.
