Osun election: APC defeats Adeleke, ADC at Aregbesola’s polling unit

The All Progressives Congress (APC) achieved a decisive victory at the polling unit of former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola during the ongoing governorship election. APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji garnered 256 votes, while the incumbent governor and Accord Party candidate, Ademola Adeleke, received 43 votes. The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, trailed with 13 votes.

This outcome is significant due to Aregbesola's influential position as a former governor and a key figure in Ijesaland. His polling unit had drawn considerable attention ahead of the election, with his presence further amplifying interest in the voting process in the area.

The APC's substantial 213-vote margin over the Accord Party at this specific unit highlights the party's strong performance. The APC's vote tally exceeded the combined votes of the Accord and ADC candidates. Aregbesola himself cast his ballot earlier in the day, attracting the attention of voters and political observers.
