Osun Election: APM, NNPP agents absent as APC, ADC, Accord dominate units

During the Osun State governorship election, agents from numerous political parties were notably absent from several monitored polling units in Ejigbo. This absence left representatives from the All Progressives Congress (APC), African Democratic Congress (ADC), and Accord Party as the primary observers of the electoral process.

Despite 17 political parties fielding candidates, many, including the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), had no visible agents at the polling stations visited. This situation persisted as voting commenced and progressed, with available party agents overseeing accreditation and ballot casting.

The widespread lack of representation by party agents has sparked concerns regarding the effectiveness of grassroots monitoring and the overall representation of these affected parties in the election. The role of party agents is crucial for observing proceedings and reporting any irregularities on behalf of their candidates.
