Osun Festival sees Arugba lead procession; leaders call for tech integration

Excitement filled the air at the Osun-Osogbo Festival as Osunbunmi Moradeke, the Arugba, led the sacred votary into the Osun Sacred Grove. This marked Moradeke's first time carrying the votary since her selection two years ago, following a process of Ifa divination. Her appearance generated significant joy and prayers among worshippers, a key element of the annual celebration.

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, represented by his Deputy Kola Adewusi, pledged the administration's continued dedication to safeguarding the state's rich cultural heritage. He specifically highlighted the importance of protecting the Osun Sacred Grove, a site recognized globally for its cultural significance. Adewusi emphasized the government's support for indigenous cultural activities that promote Osun State worldwide.

Adams suggested leveraging live streaming, interactive digital platforms, and social media to engage younger generations and global audiences. He also called for enhanced Federal Government involvement and the introduction of new innovations to further boost the festival's appeal and economic contributions.
