Ikire, the hometown of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, witnessed a significant voter turnout on Saturday for the Osun governorship election. Residents flocked to polling centers, with many arriving as early as 7 a.m. to locate their names on the registers ahead of accreditation.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had its officials ready, having established polling units before the scheduled start. Security measures were in place, featuring unarmed police at the centers and armed personnel, soldiers, and patrol vehicles positioned strategically across the town.

As of 8:20 a.m., traffic, including motorcycles and cars, moved along the Ife-Ibadan Road, which traverses the town. The overall atmosphere remained calm, with some shops open and residents continuing their daily activities amidst the election.
