Over 170 officials in Đồng Tháp trained in food safety inspection

More than 170 officials in Vietnam's Đồng Tháp province have undergone specialized training to enhance their food safety inspection capabilities. The course, organized by the School of Inspectors under the Government Inspectorate, focused on updating participants with the latest legal provisions and practical skills necessary for effective inspections.

The training comes at a time when ensuring food safety presents increasing challenges due to the diversification of food production, business, and circulation activities. Evolving inspection methods, guided by new regulations, also necessitate continuous professional development for inspection personnel.

Dr. Nguyễn Tuấn Khanh, Vice Rector of the School of Inspectors, emphasized the critical role of food safety inspections in safeguarding public health and bolstering state management. He highlighted the implementation of Decree 217/2025/ND-CP, which introduces new principles, methods, and skills for specialized inspections, requiring enhanced capacity among frontline officials.

The curriculum covered an overview of food safety inspections, procedural steps, inspection rights, document drafting skills, administrative violation handling, and risk detection and prevention. Alongside theoretical knowledge, instructors guided participants through practical scenarios to help them apply legal regulations effectively and minimize errors in their duties. The initiative is anticipated to improve food safety management in Đồng Tháp, leading to more timely detection and handling of violations, better protection of citizens' health, and the fostering of a safe and healthy food business environment.
