Over 5,000 Doses of Crystal Meth Seized in La Paz and Los Cabos Operations; Two Arrested

Authorities in Baja California Sur have seized more than 5,700 doses of methamphetamine in two distinct operations conducted in La Paz and Los Cabos, leading to the arrest of two individuals.

In La Paz, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in the Bella California neighborhood as part of an inquiry into alleged drug sales. During the search, Aldo Benjamín “N,” aged 30, was apprehended. Authorities secured approximately 2,500 doses of the drug, along with cash, a scale, and metal utensils. The suspect and evidence were handed over to the specialized Public Ministry for narcotics trade investigations.

Separately, in Cabo San Lucas, agents arrested Luis Alfredo “N,” known as “El Wisa,” aged 41, in the Mariano Matamoros neighborhood. This operation yielded over 3,250 doses of methamphetamine, a scale, cash, and a 2005 Jeep Cherokee SUV. The arrested individual and seized items were transferred to the Attorney General's Office of the Republic (FGR) for further proceedings.

These seizures come as Baja California Sur faces ongoing challenges with drug-related crime. According to data from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System, the state registered 776 cases of drug dealing in the first half of the current year. In 2025, the entity recorded a total of 1,048 reports for this offense.
