Oyo monarchs, council chairmen hail Makinde over road projects

Traditional rulers and local government officials in Oyo State have lauded Governor Seyi Makinde for his administration's significant focus on road infrastructure development. Following an inspection of recently completed and ongoing projects in Oyo East and Oyo West Local Government Areas, community leaders expressed their satisfaction with the tangible improvements.

The inspection tour, led by the Chairmen of Oyo East and Oyo West Local Governments, Oluokun Olusola and Akeem Olukitibi respectively, included several prominent traditional rulers. They examined key projects such as the 4-kilometer asphalt-tarred road connecting Iseke, Ladindin, Ojongbodu, and Isokun, which spans both local government areas. This project, with 3.2 kilometers in Oyo East and 0.8 kilometers in Oyo West, is a significant addition to the region's connectivity.

Olukitibi praised Makinde for prioritizing road infrastructure, stating that the interventions have "improved transportation, enhanced accessibility and stimulated economic activities in several communities." He specifically mentioned other delivered projects like the Apaara–Oke Apo Road and Molaba–Balogun Road, emphasizing their role in facilitating commerce and socio-economic development.

The officials also acknowledged the support of former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Monsurat Sunmonu, describing her contribution as instrumental to the approval and execution of these road projects.
