Pakatan Harapan has wasted four years, says Bersama leader

Pakatan Harapan (PH) has squandered four years failing to enact changes that directly benefit the public, especially concerning wages and the cost of living, according to Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli, leader of Parti Bersama Malaysia (Bersama). Ramli stated that the remaining time is insufficient for the government to demonstrate the efficacy of its policies. "But we have wasted four years. What's left is perhaps five months, seven months," he said during the announcement of Bersama candidates for the Melaka state election. He argued that in the face of economic challenges, rising prices, and stagnant wages, the government is running out of time to implement radical policies ensuring economic growth benefits the people. Ramli criticized the government's frequent announcements of positive economic growth, pointing out that ordinary citizens do not feel a significant increase in their income or purchasing power. He highlighted that despite official reports, the price of goods like fish remains high, wage increases are minimal, and essential items like medicine are becoming more expensive. This disconnect, he believes, is eroding public confidence in PH, making it difficult for the party to win over voters with the same approach. "I feel that on the PH side, there is no more time. People no longer believe," Ramli stated, adding that if he were in PH, repeating the leaders' speeches would likely result in him being pelted with rotten eggs. He cited this disillusionment as a primary reason for forming Bersama, anticipating that his own campaign speeches might face similar public rejection due to a lack of trust.
