Panama Detects Nine Foreigners Working Illegally in San Felipe Operation

In a decisive move to uphold labor laws and national employment, Panama's Ministry of Labor and Development (Mitradel) conducted a significant operation in the historic San Felipe district. This interinstitutional effort, a clear signal of the government's commitment to regulating the workforce, uncovered nine foreign nationals operating without the necessary work permits.

The operation, a collaboration between Mitradel's inspection directorate and key security and consumer protection agencies, including the National Police, National Migration Service, Acodeco, National Customs Authority, and Senafront, underscores Panama's proactive stance on immigration and labor compliance. Inspecting 35 commercial establishments, the authorities identified individuals from Colombia, the Dominican Republic, and Asia, highlighting the diverse origins of foreign workers.
