Panama Health Ministry Warns Against Unregistered Medications Sold Online

Panama's Ministry of Health (Minsa) has issued a public warning regarding the online sale of medications that lack the mandatory sanitary registration. The alert specifically targets sales conducted through social media accounts like "amino_lives" and "amino_livespty," the profile "AminoLives," and the website www.aminolives.com.

Following verification, Minsa confirmed that the products advertised by these online entities do not possess the necessary sanitary registration required for commercialization within Panama. This registration is a crucial step mandated by current health regulations to ensure the quality, safety, and efficacy of pharmaceutical products available to the public.

The ministry strongly recommends that the public refrain from purchasing, using, or distributing these unregistered medications. Due to the lack of official oversight, the origin, quality, safety, and effectiveness of these products remain unknown, posing potential risks to consumers' health.

Minsa has referred the case to the Advertising Commission for appropriate action under existing regulations. The ministry also reminded citizens that medications should exclusively be bought from authorized pharmacies and licensed establishments. Individuals are encouraged to report any suspicious sales of pharmaceutical products by contacting Minsa directly or using the Directorate of Pharmacy and Drugs' online complaint form. The sanitary registration status of medications can be verified through Minsa's official registry system.
