Panama Weather: Monday Forecast Includes Rain, Winds Up to 40 km/h, and Extreme UV Radiation

Panama is bracing for a week of varied weather, according to the Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology of Panama (Imhpa). Monday's forecast predicts cloudy skies and rain of varying intensity across different regions.

The Caribbean coast can expect intermittent clouds and occasional showers from Veraguas to Bocas del Toro, with isolated showers elsewhere. The Pacific coast will start with partly cloudy to clear skies, but isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible in the southern Darién and the Gulf of Panama. Afternoon showers are anticipated in parts of Panama, Panama Oeste, and Chiriquí, with isolated thunderstorms expected at night in southern Darién. The rest of the country will see minimal cloud cover.

Temperatures will range from 23°C to 27°C in the Central Mountains and 30°C to 34°C in the rest of the country. Winds along the Caribbean and central/eastern Pacific coasts will blow from the northwest, north, and northeast at 20 to 35 km/h, potentially reaching 40 km/h in the Gulf of Panama. The western Pacific coast will experience lighter winds from the west and southwest.

Coastal conditions in the Caribbean will see waves between 1.50 and 2.20 meters, with a caution level in place. The Pacific coast will have waves between 0.31 and 1.50 meters, with caution advised for the central and eastern regions.

Imhpa also warns of extreme UV-B radiation levels, ranging from 8 to 11+, posing very high to extreme risks across the country.
