Panama Weather: Isolated Showers Expected, Temperatures Up to 34°C Sunday

Panama's weather on Sunday will be a mix of conditions, with the Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Imhpa) predicting sporadic showers in the morning and isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. Coastal regions and the Central Mountain Range will experience the most varied weather.

The Caribbean coast can expect morning showers, while the southern Veraguas region, particularly Coiba Island, might see isolated downpours with storms. In the afternoon, Imhpa anticipates brief, isolated showers in Darién, Panamá, Panamá Oeste, Coclé, and the Central Mountain Range. Most other areas will have partly cloudy to clear skies, with no significant rain expected at night.

Temperatures are forecast to reach highs between 29°C and 34°C along the Pacific coast, and 28°C to 31°C on the Caribbean side. The Central Mountain Range will be cooler, with temperatures between 20°C and 26°C. Winds will be variable, generally light, with speeds of 5 to 15 kilometers per hour.

Maritime conditions include waves of 1.60 to 2.20 meters in the Caribbean and 0.80 to 1.20 meters on the Pacific coast. The country faces high to extreme UV-B radiation levels, between 7 and 11+. Four weather advisories are currently active: one for rain until August 10, rough seas in the Pacific until August 11, Saharan dust incursions until August 10, and strong winds and rough seas in the Caribbean until August 11.
