Paraguay gears up for WRC Rally with operational and safety training

Paraguay is intensifying preparations for the upcoming WRC Rally, set to take place from August 27 to 30 in the Itapúa department. This marks the second edition of the event, which will serve as the eleventh round of the World Rally Championship (WRC).

Each institution presented its plan of action for critical areas such as the control of traffic, the security in the stages, health assistance and rapid response to emergencies.

A recent "Rally Weekend" event, held at the Paraguayan Olympic Committee (COP), focused on unifying strategies among public forces and training hundreds of volunteer "guardarrallies." This initiative aims to ensure the smooth execution and safety of the competition.

The "Rally Weekend" featured two intensive days of coordination. The first day concentrated on operational and legal planning, involving key figures from the Military Forces, National Police, Public Ministry, Traffic Patrol, Fire Department, and Ministry of Health. Each institution presented its action plan for critical areas such as traffic control, stage security, health assistance, and emergency response.

The second day was dedicated to training the volunteer guardarrallies. These volunteers received detailed instruction on their logistical and safety roles along the race routes. Paraguayan WRC drivers Diego Domínguez and Ale Galanti also shared their experiences, emphasizing the volunteers' crucial role in ensuring the safety of crews and fans.
