As Paraguay prepares for its first World Cup appearance in 16 years, businesses are anticipating a surge in sales, particularly for beer and meat. Bodega owners and supermarket managers report stable prices for essential goods, with special promotions to coincide with the national team's debut.

Damián Fernández, president of the Association of Bodegueros of Paraguay, noted that customer activity began picking up on Friday, with expectations for increased sales on Thursday and the subsequent holiday. He highlighted that beer remains the top choice for football events, even during colder weather, with many establishments arranging to show matches.

Fernández mentioned that beer companies, some sponsoring the national team, are offering deals like "buy 12, get 15" on canned beverages. He also emphasized the strong quality and accessible pricing of national beer brands. "We are convinced that from Paraguay's first match, we will see a different dynamic in the sector's growth," he stated.

Gustavo Lezcano, president of the Paraguayan Chamber of Supermarkets (Capasu), echoed these optimistic sentiments. Supermarkets have increased their orders to meet the anticipated demand from fans, referred to as the "Albirroja tide."

Lezcano added that the sector has secured favorable prices for products this week, allowing for attractive offers to celebrate Paraguay's return to the World Cup stage. He anticipates a substantial commercial movement, with stores well-stocked to cater to the enthusiastic public.
