Paraguayan shooters excel at Argentina's IPSC Centro República Challenge 2026

Paraguay's practical shooting delegation showcased its international prowess at the IPSC Centro República Challenge 2026, held in Cordoba, Argentina. The demanding regional tournament saw competitors from across South America and Europe test their skills across 24 challenging courses.

José Gorostiaga emerged victorious in the Production Optics division's overall classification, competing with a Canik Optic. Viviana Zarratea secured the second position in the Lady category of the Production Optics division, using a CZ Shadow Optics Ready. Dr. Guillermo Cabrejo also earned a podium finish, taking third place in the overall Optic division with a STI.

Further successes included Carlos Meixner's fourth-place finish in the general Production division and Fernando Sorrentino's sixth place in the Super Senior category of Production Optics. These achievements underscore Paraguay's rising status as a significant force in practical shooting within South America. The delegation also acknowledged the crucial support from Paraguay's Directorate General of War Material (Digemabel) and DENIT, which facilitated the necessary procedures for transporting firearms and ammunition.
