Paraguayan Songwriters Collective Celebrates Two Years with Concert of Female Composers

The collective Cancioneras Paraguayas is marking its second year of activity with a special concert showcasing the work of four national women composers. The event, scheduled for Friday, August 14, at 8:00 PM at La Serafina, offers free admission to the public.

This musical gathering will feature live performances by Sofía Barudi, Sari Carri, Bárbara Cáceres, and Missmaella. The night is dedicated to celebrating the creative output of Paraguayan women songwriters and composers.

Cancioneras Paraguayas, comprised of cultural managers, singer-songwriters, and composers, focuses on fostering opportunities for connection and development within the music scene. Their work aims to promote the visibility and circulation of women's contributions to Paraguayan music.

Over the past two years, the collective has also published two volumes of works by Paraguayan composers, expanding the reach of their creations beyond live performances. These publications complement their ongoing efforts to create spaces for collaboration and learning within the music community.
