PAS Urges Menteri Besar to Address Land Encroachment Allegations

The Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) is demanding a clear explanation from Negeri Sembilan's Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, regarding leaked documents that allege government land encroachment under the leadership of a DAP assemblyman. PAS Information Chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari stated that the state government must openly address two key questions: whether the documents are genuine and were issued by the Menteri Besar's office and relevant agencies.

Fadhli emphasized that if the documents are indeed fake, the state government should firmly deny this and file a police report, as the misuse of official letterheads, reference numbers, signatures, stamps, and government official names is a serious offense. Conversely, if the documents are authentic, PAS wants to know the outcome of the investigation that was reportedly ordered in July 2022. The public, Fadhli argued, has the right to know if a committee or investigation team was formed, if site inspections were carried out, and if land ownership and occupation status were properly identified.

Previously, a document dated July 18, 2022, circulated on social media, purportedly from the Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar's office to the Seremban District Officer. Titled "Complaint Regarding Widespread Government Land Encroachment," it indicated that the office had received complaints about alleged encroachments, believed to be led by a DAP assemblyman. The letter directed the Seremban District Officer to take further action based on the Menteri Besar's directives. Accompanying this were copies of complaints detailing alleged encroachments in various Seremban areas, along with accusations of political influence peddling, corruption, and the provision of utilities to the disputed lands.

If the documents are genuine, what is the result of the investigation ordered in July 2022?

Ahmad Fadhli, who is also the Member of Parliament for Pasir Mas, further questioned whether the public could receive confirmation about the existence of structures built without permission, the legality of utility connections, and whether authorities or elected representatives were questioned. He also inquired if any "settlement money" or corruption allegations were referred to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM) and if enforcement actions, prosecutions, or evictions from state land had occurred. PAS insists on knowing if the investigation report was completed, submitted to the Menteri Besar, and if a DAP assemblyman's involvement was confirmed, along with any subsequent actions taken. If the investigation found no basis for the claims, PAS believes the results should be announced to clear the names of those involved.
