Pelindo Offers Free Health Services to 200 Vulnerable Residents in Makassar for Independence Day

PT Pelindo has launched a free health service program for 200 vulnerable residents in Makassar, South Sulawesi, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (TJSL) initiatives. The program, themed "Healthy Independence for All," specifically targets 100 toddlers and 100 elderly individuals in the Wajo District.

The initiative aims to provide tangible benefits to the community, aligning with the commemoration of Indonesia's 81st Independence Day. Rinto Saiful, Division Head of Human Resources and General Services at Pelindo Regional 4, stated that the company is committed to making a real impact. "We want the commemoration of independence not just to be celebrated ceremonially, but also realized through activities that provide real benefits to the community," he said.

Health is considered a crucial foundation for improving community welfare and quality of life. Pelindo supports access to health services through its collaborative TJSL programs. The Camat of Wajo, Ivan Kalalembang, praised Pelindo's concern for the health of vulnerable groups, emphasizing the importance of regular health monitoring for toddlers and the elderly. "This activity provides direct benefits to the community and helps increase residents' awareness of the importance of maintaining and checking their health," he noted.

Kalalembang also highlighted the need for continued collaboration between the sub-district government, health facilities, and companies to ensure social programs effectively reach their intended recipients. He expressed hope that similar activities would be conducted sustainably, particularly for communities facing challenges in accessing healthcare.
