Pensión 65 payments begin for over 824,000 elderly: How to collect the S/350 subsidy in August

Peru's Pensión 65 program has initiated its August disbursement of S/350 to more than 824,000 elderly individuals living in extreme poverty. The bimestral subsidy can be collected nationwide starting Monday, August 3, through the Banco de la Nación's network of agencies, Multired ATMs, and authorized correspondent agents.

The program highlighted that over 700,000 beneficiaries possess a Banco de la Nación debit card, enabling them to access funds without needing to travel extensively. This initiative aims to simplify subsidy access and promote financial inclusion among recipients.

Beneficiaries can withdraw their S/350 payments at any Banco de la Nación branch, Multired ATM, or authorized agent. The use of debit cards offers a faster and more convenient way to receive the funds, reducing unnecessary travel. The Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion (Midis) is also conducting campaigns to issue cards and provide training on their proper use, emphasizing the importance of keeping PINs confidential to enhance financial inclusion for the elderly.

Additionally, the Yachaq application, available on Android devices and online, allows citizens to verify their status as Pensión 65 beneficiaries by entering their DNI. The platform also provides details on program requirements, answers frequently asked questions, and is accessible in Spanish, Quechua, and Aymara.
