Perlis Culture Ride: New Attraction to Boost State Tourism

The Perlis Culture Ride 2026 provided a unique cycling experience for 160 participants, allowing them to explore the scenic beauty of the state, including tourist locations and picturesque villages. The event spanned 37.5 kilometers and was a collaborative effort by various government agencies and tourism bodies.

Cycling while seeing the beauty of the state by traversing tourist locations and village areas with stunning views became a valuable experience for the participants of the Perlis Culture Ride 2026.

Organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) Perlis, in partnership with Kraftangan Malaysia Perlis, the National Department for Culture and Arts (JKKN), the Northern Zone National Heritage Department, Tourism Malaysia, MEP21, and the State Secretary's Office, the ride served as a platform to highlight Perlis's rich culture, arts, heritage, and craft products. It also aimed to strengthen inter-agency cooperation in promoting Perlis as a cultural and heritage-based tourism destination.

State officials, including Menteri Besar Abu Bakar Hamzah and Datuk Shaharuddin Abu Sohot, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, were present to support the event. The Perlis Tourism and Recreation Association (Trooper) was responsible for technical coordination and promoting participation.

The program also served as a platform to elevate and introduce the state's cultural wealth, arts, heritage, and craft products.

This cycling event is a new initiative to showcase Perlis's unique cycling routes, emphasizing its peaceful and tranquil environment, making it ideal for safe cycling activities. It extends beyond a simple ride, promoting Perlis as a sports tourism destination by highlighting key tourist locations around Kuala Perlis, Sungai Baru, Sungai Padang, and Sanglang. Trooper's president, Ku Hasrin Ku Abdul Rahman, pledged continued support to the state government in enhancing cycling tourism to attract more enthusiasts and boost the local economy.
