Personnel Announcements: August 13

South Korea's government has announced a series of personnel changes across several key ministries and agencies, effective August 13. These appointments and promotions aim to fill leadership roles and reorganize departmental functions within the administrative structure.

Within the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Jang Jeong-jin has been appointed as the new spokesperson. Lee Jun-hee will take on the role of Head of the International Finance Cooperation Division at the Ministry of Planning and Budget.

The Ministry of Government Legislation has seen Lee Gyu-tae transferred to the Legal System Improvement Division of the Legal System Improvement Bureau. Park Moon-sung has been dispatched to the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO).

Significant promotions have occurred within the National Police Agency. Go Beom-seok is appointed as the Chief of the Jeonnam Provincial Police Agency, Kim Jong-cheol as the Chief of the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Police Agency, and Go Pyeong-ki as the Chief of the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Police Agency. Yoo Seung-ryeol has been appointed as the Superintendent of Investigative Planning and Coordination at the National Investigation Headquarters. Additionally, Park Heon-soo has been appointed to the National Police Agency's Joint Investigation Headquarters for Narcotics and Organized Crime, and Lee Seo-young will serve as the acting Director of the Public Safety and Traffic Bureau. Park Jun-seong is the acting Director of International Police Cooperation, and Song Byung-sun has been appointed as the Head of the Wide-Area Investigation Division of the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency. Song Yu-cheol is the new Head of the Gyeonggi Provincial Police Agency's Administration Bureau, and Kim Seong-jae will lead the Security Intelligence Bureau. Oh Seung-jin is appointed as the Head of the Investigation Bureau, and Yang Young-woo will command the 101st Security Unit. Kim Kwang-sik has been appointed as the Chief of the Gwanak Police Station in Seoul.

In other appointments, Kim Tong-il has been named Head of Overseas Resources at the Korea Forest Service. The Korea Institute for Industrial Economics and Trade (KIET) has appointed Choi Min-cheol as Head of the Industrial Innovation Policy Research Office and Min Soon-hong as Head of the Innovation Talent Policy Team.
