Pertagas Ready to Channel Additional Industrial Gas Through Cisem Pipeline Integration

PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas) has affirmed its readiness to channel additional industrial gas supplies following the integration of the national gas transmission pipeline network, including the operation of the Cirebon-Semarang (Cisem) pipeline. The company has prepared the necessary infrastructure to increase gas flow should supply and customer demand rise. "In principle, we at Pertagas, as the pipeline operator, are ready if there is gas to be channeled or if off-takers are ready to receive the supply," said Sulthani Adil Mangatur, Corporate Secretary of Pertagas. The Cisem pipeline, built in two phases, is now connected to the national gas transmission network, creating a continuous gas pipeline infrastructure from central Sumatra to East Java. This integrated network not only supports industrial sector needs but can also bolster supply for the commercial and household sectors through the national gas transportation system. Pertagas operates as both the operator and transporter of the pipeline network, as mandated by the government, ensuring the network is ready to deliver gas from various sources to customers. Gas currently flowing through the Tegal Gede Gas Compressor Station originates from multiple suppliers, including production from Pertamina EP, distribution via PGN South Sumatra West Java (SSWJ), and from Nusantara Regas 1, which receives supply from FSRU Nusantara Regas in West Java. The Cisem pipeline and the gas infrastructure managed by Subholding Gas are expected to meet industrial demand when additional gas volumes become available for distribution. This infrastructure's readiness also aims to strengthen gas supply reliability, particularly for industrial areas on Java Island.
