PGN Introduces Green Economic Life Ecosystem in Sleman via Suadesa Festival 2026

PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN), as Pertamina's Gas Subholding, is spearheading the development of a "green economic life" ecosystem in Sleman, Yogyakarta. The Suadesa Festival 2026, held from August 22-23 in the Tiyasan area, aims to blend community economic activities with the use of clean energy, social interaction, and entertainment.

The festival provides a platform for residents and businesses to engage in various activities, including culinary experiences, entertainment, and education on natural gas utilization. PGN, in collaboration with the State-Owned Enterprise Regulatory Body (BP BUMN) and the Sleman Regency Government, seeks to transform the festival into a space that connects community needs with local economic opportunities.

Abu Bakar, the Regional Secretary of Sleman Regency, noted the dynamic shift in Tiyasan's community activities over the past decade. Once primarily a transit route, Tiyasan is now evolving into a hub for economic and social engagement. He highlighted the festival's role in revitalizing the area and generating economic benefits for local businesses and residents.

Ten years ago Tiyasan was not so familiar in Yogyakarta, especially in Sleman. It used to be just a shortcut from Ngaglik to Condongcatur Terminal. Now we can liven up this area, children can gather, and there is an economic cycle for business actors and the community.

Edi Eko Cahyono, Director of Social and Environmental Responsibility at BP BUMN, emphasized that the Suadesa Festival is a collaborative effort to build a sustainable ecosystem for community businesses. He stressed the importance of ensuring the festival's benefits extend beyond its duration, providing a lasting platform for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to thrive.

Hery Murahmanta, PGN's Director of Infrastructure & Technology, explained that the "green economic life" concept at the festival is realized by integrating community economic activities, social spaces, and the utilization of cleaner energy sources, including natural gas.
