Pilah Candidate: Development Benefits Must Reach All Residents, Address Trader Concerns

Development initiatives in Kuala Pilah must extend to rural villages to ensure all residents benefit, regardless of their location, according to Datuk Noorzunita Begum Mohd. Ibrahim, a Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for the Pilah state seat. She stated that development projects aim not only to revitalize the district but also to enhance the long-term well-being of the community.

Noorzunita pointed to the positive impact of projects implemented since 2018, noting that many village roads have been paved under the supervision of local authorities. These improvements significantly enhance convenience for residents. She stressed that development should not be confined to physical aspects alone but must also strengthen education, the economy, health, and welfare to ensure holistic progress.

To prevent young people from migrating for work, Noorzunita emphasized the importance of creating more job opportunities within Kuala Pilah. She believes economic development should align with job creation to retain the local youth population. If elected, she also aims to improve access to educational facilities to provide children with better learning resources.

Furthermore, Noorzunita pledged to seriously address the issue of high site rental fees, which she identified as a major concern for small traders in Kuala Pilah. This complaint has been consistently raised by traders during her campaign, particularly during a walkabout at the Melang Night Market. She acknowledged that these traders are vital to the local economy, providing jobs and driving daily economic activities.
