Alanya, long recognized as the heartland of tropical fruit cultivation in Turkey, is venturing into new territory with the experimental cultivation of pineapples. This bold move, spearheaded by Ali Hüddoğlu, president of the Alanya Tropical Fruit Producers Association, signifies a growing ambition to diversify the region's agricultural output and cater to the substantial domestic demand for pineapples. The successful development of the pineapple plants, which are now bearing fruit after a two-and-a-half-year growth period, has further fueled enthusiasm among local growers. Alanya'mızda 40'a yakın tropikal meyve üretiyoruz. Bunlardan bir tanesi de ananas. Ananası da bahçelerimizde deniyoruz. Bölgemizde de yoğun bir ekim var. Ananas iki buçuk sene içerisinde verime geçti. Şu anda gelişimi güzel. Topalarını vermeye başladı. Önümüzdeki aylarda hasat edeceğiz. Bu şekilde devam ederse ananas verimliliği güzel olacak. Çünkü ülkemizde çok fazla ananas tüketimi var. Yerli üreticiye destek verildiğinde bu şehirde tropikal meyvenin her çeşidini üretebiliriz.
