PKR remains strong despite departures, says Youth Minister

Youth and Sports Minister Muhammed Taufiq Johari asserts that PKR remains steadfast despite some leaders and members departing to establish new political entities. He views these departures as a normal aspect of a democratic nation where political landscapes constantly shift.

Political dynamics are very dynamic and for me this is the right of democracy and our country is a democratic country.

Taufiq, who is also the Sungai Petani Member of Parliament and Vice Chief of PKR's youth wing (AMK), emphasized that PKR's resilience is not dependent on any single individual. Instead, he attributes the party's strength to ongoing cadre development, the nurturing of future leaders, and its nearly three-decade-long commitment to reform.

He stressed that the party has been fighting for reform for almost 28 years, aiming to transform an outdated system with existing loopholes.

We have been fighting for almost 28 years to achieve what we have now and our goal is reform or to change a very old system, which may have certain loopholes that need to be filled, that is the most important thing.

Despite the departure of prominent figures, Taufiq maintained that PKR is still united and strong. He urged humility and introspection, ensuring the continuous development of young leaders as the party's future. The party's focus is on showcasing performance-based politics, contrasting it with rhetoric or identity-based approaches, to become the primary choice for the people through demonstrated achievements.

PKR remains intact, still strong and we don't want to be arrogant but we must be humble, repent for whatever happens and ensure the process of forming new young leaders who will be the successors in the party can continue.
