PLN Educates Elementary Students on Electrical Safety to Reduce Accident Risks

PT PLN (Persero) Unit Induk Pembangkitan (UIK) Dwipantara is actively promoting electrical safety awareness among young children by conducting educational sessions for elementary school students. Recently, students at SD Negeri 1 Labuhan in Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara, participated in a program focused on the safe use of electricity.

Through this activity, we want to build students' understanding of how to use electricity safely, both at home and in the surrounding environment.

The initiative aims to instill a fundamental understanding of electrical safety from an early age, highlighting potential dangers and encouraging safe practices when using electrical appliances at home and in their surroundings. Rita Triani, General Manager of PLN UIK Dwipantara, emphasized that electrical safety knowledge is crucial for everyone, including children.

"Through this activity, we want to build students' understanding of how to use electricity safely, both at home and in the surrounding environment," Rita stated. She believes that early education helps cultivate a safety culture and reduces the risk of accidents caused by improper electricity use. PLN hopes these students will become advocates for safety, sharing their knowledge with their families and communities.

Manager of PLN UPK Tambora, Arizona Yoris Wirawan, added that the program is part of broader efforts to enhance public literacy on electrical safety through education. He stressed the importance of children understanding the risks associated with unsafe electricity use, such as electric shocks and potential fires stemming from faulty installations or equipment. PLN aims for these educational efforts to foster a lifelong commitment to electrical safety, thereby minimizing accidents and promoting the secure use of electricity in daily life.
