Police arrest 10 suspected human parts dealers in Oyo, Nigeria

Authorities in Nigeria's Oyo State have apprehended 10 individuals suspected of involvement in the illicit trade of human parts. The arrests followed a sustained intelligence-led operation by the state's police command.

During searches of the suspects' hideouts in the Iseyin and Saki areas, police recovered a disturbing cache of items. These included a suspected human heart, pieces of human flesh, fragments of a human skull, and various charms. The recovered exhibits have been secured for forensic analysis.

Following their arrest, operatives conducted searches of the suspects’ hideouts, during which several suspected human parts were recovered. The exhibits include one suspected human heart, human flesh, pieces of human skull and assorted charms.

The suspects are currently cooperating with investigators to shed light on the origins, procurement methods, and intended uses of the recovered body parts. Police are also working to identify and apprehend other potential members of the syndicate. The State Commissioner of Police commended the operatives for their diligence and reaffirmed the command's commitment to eradicating criminal elements and safeguarding human life in the state.
