Police arrest suspected armed robber in Lagos, recover pistol and charms

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have apprehended a suspected armed robber in the Igando area of the state, recovering a locally made pistol and assorted charms. The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Olajunja Segun Samson, was arrested during a routine patrol.

The arrest was made when a Police patrol team sighted a motorcycle conveying three male occupants behaving suspiciously. On sighting the police, the suspects attempted to flee.

The incident occurred when a police patrol team observed a motorcycle carrying three male occupants exhibiting suspicious behavior. Upon sighting the police, the suspects attempted to flee. While two accomplices managed to escape, Samson was apprehended, and the motorcycle was abandoned.

A subsequent search of the arrested suspect and the abandoned motorcycle led to the recovery of one locally fabricated pistol and various charms, which are believed to have been used by the suspects. The police have stated that efforts are underway to track down and arrest the two fleeing accomplices.

The suspect is currently in Police custody while efforts are being intensified to apprehend the fleeing accomplices. Investigation into the case is ongoing.
