Police foil abduction, bust cattle thieves in Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command has successfully apprehended two individuals suspected of cattle theft and recovered six stolen cows. In separate operations, the police also thwarted a potential abduction attempt. The arrests occurred following a distress call about stolen cows in the Maskoli area of Sagamu. Responding officers intercepted a blue Nissan Cabster bus, believed to be used in the crime, along the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode expressway, recovering most of the stolen livestock. An investigation is underway to apprehend other syndicate members and recover the remaining cow. Separately, operatives on patrol along the Lagos-Ibadan motorway responded to gunshots, causing suspected kidnappers to flee. The intended victim was rescued unharmed. The state Commissioner of Police commended the officers' professionalism and pledged the command's continued dedication to intelligence-led policing and ensuring public safety, urging residents to remain vigilant and provide credible information.
