Police nab 25 suspected cultists in A’Ibom

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has once again demonstrated its commitment to eradicating criminal elements within the state. In a significant operation conducted on May 3, 2026, operatives successfully dismantled a suspected cultist gathering in Abak Local Government Area, apprehending 25 individuals, including 10 females.

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has recorded another significant operational breakthrough in its sustained crackdown on criminal elements across the State.

Acting on precise intelligence and under the directive of Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, the police stormed a known black spot in Oku Abak Village. This swift action led to the arrest of the suspects as they were reportedly assembling. The operation underscores the command's proactive approach to maintaining law and order.

In line with the directives of the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, fsi, to intensify raids on identified black spots and dismantle criminal networks, operatives of the Command, acting on credible intelligence, carried out a successful operation in Abak Local Government Area.

During the search, law enforcement recovered crucial evidence, including a locally made pistol, live cartridges, a red beret, a motorcycle, and a minibus. The command reiterates its zero-tolerance policy towards cultism and other criminal activities, issuing a stern warning to all intending offenders.
