Police receive 28 reports of election offenses

Police in Negeri Sembilan have recorded 28 reports concerning election offenses during the state election campaign, which ran from July 18 to July 25. Of these reports, 14 investigation papers have been opened to address various electoral violations.

According to Negeri Sembilan Police Chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad, five reports were received on the final day of the campaign, leading to the opening of three investigation papers. One case involves mischief by fire causing property loss under Section 435 of the Penal Code, while two others fall under Section 427 for mischief causing property loss.

In parallel, police processed 95 permit applications for campaign talks and political activities on the last day, approving 94 that met the required conditions. Cumulatively, from July 18 to July 25, a total of 440 permit applications were received, with 416 being approved.

Alzafny stated that all political programs and activities will continue to be monitored to ensure compliance with the law and to maintain public safety and order. The police remain vigilant in overseeing campaign events throughout the election period.
