Police release sketch of suspect in attempted child abduction in B.C.

Police in Abbotsford, British Columbia, are searching for a man who attempted to abduct two young girls last week. The incident occurred on July 22 around 5:30 p.m. when the girls, both under 10, were playing outside their apartment complex.

A man they did not know approached them and tried to lure them into his vehicle. Fortunately, one of the girls called out for their parents, who were nearby. The commotion caused the suspect to flee the scene. Both girls were unharmed.

Authorities describe the suspect as a man in his 50s, standing between five feet five and five feet nine inches tall, with a heavy build and a "noticeable belly." He may be associated with a light-colored sedan. The major crime unit is actively investigating and released a composite sketch on Saturday, hoping for public identification.
