Polish border guards stop truck carrying 27 illegal migrants

Polish border guards in the Palanki Voivodeship have detained a truck driver, identified as a Romanian citizen, who was transporting 27 undocumented migrants. The discovery was made when authorities stopped the truck, revealing a significant number of individuals concealed within its trailer.

Upon inspection, the trailer was found to contain 18 Somali citizens, 4 Afghan nationals, and 5 Pakistani individuals. These migrants were reportedly hidden within the cargo area of the truck, highlighting a sophisticated smuggling operation.

After completing the necessary administrative procedures for the driver and the detained individuals, Polish authorities will proceed with further actions in accordance with applicable laws. Typically, in such cases involving migrants apprehended near the Lithuanian border, they are transferred to Lithuanian authorities for processing and further disposition.
