Polish meteorologists issue long-term forecasts: What to expect in our region and Lithuania?

Polish meteorologists predict warmer conditions for much of Central Europe in September, driven by high-pressure systems over the Alps. However, this forecast comes with a warning of intensifying drought in southern and central Poland and other European nations.

For Lithuania, the weather outlook presents a different picture. While the Polish models cover the region, Lithuania's northern position and local climate factors mean its weather dynamics diverge. Residents should not expect extreme heatwaves, especially as the country has recently experienced wetter and rainier conditions.

As autumn progresses, October is expected to see a shift. While a high-pressure system moving towards Kazakhstan might bring some warmer spells to Poland, Lithuania typically experiences a strengthening autumnal coolness and increased moisture during this month. The transition to the cold season is anticipated in November, with digital models indicating temperatures at or below average and more frequent precipitation.
